I was born and currently live in Boston, Massachusetts, graduated with a BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Montserrat College of Art in 2015 studying sculpture, painting and other forms of fabrication. Post-Graduation I’ve worked in Custom Manufacturing, from sign-making to custom picture Framing. Working those jobs have expanded and elevated my approach to making art.
An Instinct I've had since I was really young, my influence to want make derives from my family background in construction, engineering and music. Other influences include my love for pop culture and forms of industrial design that shape our everyday lives.
The materials range from wood paint to create my art. My practice consists of constructing shapes, in ways that extend beyond known existing geometric shapes. The frames serve as an extension of the shapes within.
I find working through my process, a constant evolution in approach and discovery from the variety of tools and materials I use. Working through my process feels like playing strategic game with a specific equation in which every piece and move has purpose. In my Recent work, anything that I subconsciously think about ranging from any subject, is interpreted through shapes. making the Shape as the painting. It’s a visual yet physical metaphor to a musician intuitively playing an instrument or a hobbyist building a model set.
